Zellij tilework employs radial symmetry centered on multi-pointed stars interlocking with polygons to form endless repeating designs. Each shape is hand-cut and mathematically calculated to fit seamlessly with adjacent pieces, creating a field of interconnected patterns where the eye finds no beginning or end. The contrasting use of deep cobalt blue, white, yellow, and emerald green defines each geometric unit, making complex pattern legible across vast surfaces.
