The Zellij panel features complex radial symmetry (girih) based on a multi-pointed star from which lines radiate into an infinite geometric web. The upper border integrates cursive Arabic calligraphy masterfully into the architectural frame, offering didactic contrast to the strictly geometric field below. Each shape is mathematically calculated and hand-cut to fit seamlessly, creating a vast surface of interconnected pattern that reflects the artistic pursuit of infinite order within the Nasrid court's most refined interior spaces.
