Vault Mural Detail in the Cloister of Schleswig Cathedral (St. Peter's Cathedral)

2471

Created approximately circa 1300–1320 CE (with later medieval phases and restoration layers). Period: High to Late Gothic / Northern European Medieval Art (14th Century).

This image captures an architectural vaulting fragment featuring figurative and floral ceiling paintings. It is crafted from lime plaster applied over medieval brick and stone rib vaulting, painted using natural earth pigments (ochres, carbon blacks, and lime-based mineral colors) executed in traditional fresco-secco wall painting technique.
