The Intricate Jharokha Facade: Darbargarh Palace, Rajkot (19th–Early 20th Century)
2624
Built during the Late British Colonial and Princely State period, specifically under the patronage of the Jadeja Rajput rulers of the Rajkot State, spanning from circa 1870 to 1920.
Architecturally, it serves as a traditional royal balcony (jharokha) and ceremonial viewing pavilion designed to project sovereign authority, display exceptional local stonemasonry guilds, and provide natural microclimate cooling and ventilation to the palace interior.
