St. László Church: Zsolnay Tiled Roof Dome and Ornamental Tower
2516
Designed and constructed between 1894–1899 (consecrated 1901) during the Hungarian Art Nouveau (Magyar Szecesszió) period, under the architectural direction of Ödön Lechner.
Structurally, the bulbous ceramic domes and octagonal towers enclose the church's nave and bell chambers, engineered to resist frost and heavy precipitation through weather-resistant pyrogranite glazes. Symbolically, the vibrant geometric tiling and exotic dome profile embody Ödön Lechner's vision of a distinctly Hungarian architectural language, fusing Eastern influences with native folk motifs.
