St. László Church: Bell Tower, Clock Face, and Zsolnay Tiled Dome
2515
Designed and constructed between 1894–1899 (consecrated in 1901) during the Hungarian Art Nouveau (Magyar Szecesszió) period, under the architectural direction of Ödön Lechner.
Structurally, the bulbous ceramic-clad dome and masonry tower house the church bells while resisting extreme weather conditions. Symbolically, the integration of Hungarian folk-art motifs with Christian ecclesiastical architecture reflects Ödön Lechner's visionary quest to forge an independent national architectural style (Magyar Szecesszió), celebrating spiritual devotion and cultural identity.
