Date: Created during the early Final Jōmon period, dating between 1,000 and 800 BCE. Period: Final Jōmon Period (approximately 1,000–400 BCE).

Ritual and Sympathetic Magic: Served as a ritual talisman or spiritual medium employed in healing ceremonies, fertility rites, and agricultural protection rituals. Shamanic Transference: Many Shakōki dogū fragments show signs of intentional breakage, reflecting rituals where physical damage to the figurine was believed to absorb diseases, deflect misfortunes, or transfer human suffering away from community members.
