Date: Modeled after an Asante chief's royal ornament from the late 18th to early 19th century (circa 1750–1850 CE). Period: Classical Ashanti Empire Period (post-founding golden age of West African Akan metalwork).

Royal Regalia and Status Symbol: Worn by the asantehene (the king) and paramount chiefs during grand state ceremonies and jubilees to display sovereign authority and immense wealth. Spiritual Protection and Supernatural Power: Gold was believed by the Akan people to possess inherent spiritual power and supernatural abilities, serving as a protective talisman to safeguard the empire and ensure safe spiritual passages.
