Mosaic Detail of the Hypostyle Room Ceiling Vault of Park Güell
2463
Designed and constructed between 1900 and 1914 CE. Period: Modernisme / Catalan Art Nouveau (Early 20th Century).
This image captures an architectural mosaic fragment decorating the curved vaulting and spandrels above the Doric columns. It is crafted from broken ceramic tiles, saucers, cups, and glass fragments, executed using the signature trencadís (broken-tile mosaic) technique invented and popularized by Antoni Gaudí and his workshop, embedded directly into lime mortar layers over brick and stone structural vaults.
