Mosaic-Clad Balcony Columns of the Palau de la Música Catalana
2458
Designed and constructed between 1905 and 1908 CE (under the architectural direction of Lluís Domènech i Montaner). Period: Modernisme / Catalan Art Nouveau (Early 20th Century).
This image captures an architectural fragment of multiple slender, cylindrical columns completely wrapped in polychrome ceramic tile and glass mosaics, crowned by sculptural floral capitals. It is crafted from a structural core clad in glazed ceramic shards, glass tesserae, and manufactured tiles using the trencadís (broken-tile mosaic) technique and precision tesserae assembly, executed through direct mortar bedding, custom tile-cutting, and polychrome arrangement.
