Knochenhaueramtshaus (Butchers' Guild Hall, Hildesheim): Ground Floor Portal Bay with Putti Frieze, Winged Term Figures, and Geometric Relief Panels
2540
Created in 1587 (as explicitly inscribed on the central frieze register) during the Northern Renaissance / German Renaissance period, and faithfully reconstructed post-war.
Architecturally, this monumental assembly frames the primary ground-floor entrance bay, organizing the stone masonry into a structured architectural framework. Symbolically, the combination of joyful putti, fertility garlands, protective winged term figures, and the explicit construction date proclaimed the civic pride, artistic patronage, and prosperity of the guild.
