Interior Dome Fresco Decoration of the Et'hem Bey Mosque (Tirana, Albania)
2428
Created during the late Ottoman period in Albania, construction began around 1791–1794 under Molla Bey and was completed between 1819 and 1821 by his son, Haxhi Ethem Bey.
This object is a comprehensive, radially segmented interior dome fresco painting. The technique utilizes traditional fresco painting on prepared lime plaster surfaces, executed with fine mineral pigments, delicate brushwork, and layered washes designed to curve seamlessly across the hemispherical vault.
