Guaranty Building: Top Story Frieze, Oculus Windows, and Cornice Capital
2505
Designed and constructed between 1895–1896 during the American Renaissance and early skyscraper era by the architectural firm Adler & Sullivan.
This image captures the magnificent top-tier entablature and attic frieze of the building, featuring a continuous band of interlacing circular geometric roundels enclosing oculus windows, dense organic plant-form reliefs, and a crowning bracketed cornice. It is constructed from architectural terracotta tile sheathing over a structural steel frame, executed using molded ceramic casting, hand-chiseled detailing, and high-relief organic modeling.
