Georgia (Akhalgori)
Golden Temple-Pendants (Sennblatter/Ear-Pendants) from the Akhalgori Treasure
2703
Dated to the 5th to 4th centuries BC (with the burial itself ascribed to the end of the 4th century BC), during the classical antiquity period of ancient Georgia.
Recovered from an elite female barrow burial in Akhalgori alongside six harnessed horses and several attendants, these pendants functioned as high-status prestige regalia and ritual burial ornaments, symbolizing the supreme wealth, aristocratic rank, and socio-economic differentiation of the deceased.
