Dome and Interior Wall Frescoes of the Et'hem Bey Mosque (Tirana, Albania)
2426
Created during the late Ottoman period in Albania, construction began around 1791–1794 under Molla Bey and was completed between 1819 and 1821 by his son, Haxhi Ethem Bey.
This object is a comprehensive interior mural painting program covering the central masonry dome, pendentives, and upper walls. The technique utilizes traditional fresco painting on prepared lime plaster surfaces, executed with fine mineral pigments, delicate brushwork, and layered washes to conform to the curved geometry of the vault.
