Creation Date: 1400–1450 CE. Period: Early 15th century / Late Medieval Spain (Hispano-Moresque period under the Crown of Aragon).

Storage of Apothecary Goods: Designed primarily to store dry or viscous medicinal substances, spices, and drugs in medieval and early Renaissance apothecaries. Functional Form and Ergonomics: The tall, slender, handleless cylindrical shape allowed jars to be packed tightly side by side on apothecary shelves, while the wide mouth and recessed waist facilitated handling and the attachment of parchment labels tied with string.
